Vincent VanGogh is known for his confident brush strokes that brilliantly portray motion in a scene. The eyes follow the lines from one part of the painting to another. Much like VanGogh, a jujiteiro can show their mastery by taking control of the motion of the match.
Making this image was a lot of fun. Translating the motion of Clark Gracie's famous omoplata into the style of VanGogh took time, practice, and a lot of little strokes. Paying homage to another artist's style always adds another level of stress to the artistic process, but it was a blast!
Also, yes, I know VanGogh isn't actually pronounced like "go," but that's how most people say it and it works with omoplata better, so... too bad.
